Dubai Approves 65km 'Suspended Transport Systems Project' to Boost Smart Mobility
Dubai has unveiled its ambitious 'Suspended Transport Systems Project,' a 65km smart mobility network connecting key areas including Umm Suqeim Street, Al Khor, and Zabeel. The Executive Council of Dubai announced this groundbreaking initiative on Tuesday, part of a larger strategy to enhance Dubai's leadership across multiple sectors over the next decade.
Though details remain limited, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) had previously showcased mock-up models of Dubai Sky Pods, a concept based on suspended transport technology. These futuristic pods will travel along elevated beams across the city, providing passengers with a smooth, scenic journey while avoiding the 'roller-coaster' sensation typical of incline climbs.
This initiative highlights Dubai's commitment to pioneering smart, sustainable urban mobility solutions as it continues to evolve into a global leader in transportation innovation.
