Sheikh Hamdan and Sheikh Abdullah appointed Deputy Prime Ministers
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, Minister of Foreign Affairs, was also appointed Deputy Prime Minister. These appointments were part of a broader government restructuring, including changes in the education sector.
Sheikh Abdullah will head the newly restructured Council for Education, Human Resources, and Community Development, with Sheikha Mariam bint Mohamed bin Zayed as Vice President and President of the National Centre for Quality Education. This council aims to ensure the stability and continuity of education plans and strategies, overseeing national human capital development from early childhood to higher education and employment.
The government changes also included merging the Emirates Foundation for School Education and the Federal Agency for Early Education with the Ministry of Education. Sarah Al Amiri was appointed Minister of Education, and Abdulrahman Al Awar was named acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in addition to his current duties.
Further appointments included Ahmed Belhoul as Minister of Sports and President of the Higher Colleges of Technology, and Alia Al Mazrouei as Minister of State for Entrepreneurship. Sheikh Mohammed emphasized Al Mazrouei's role in creating economic opportunities for the nation's youth. Sara Al Musallam, previously responsible for early education, was thanked for her past efforts.
